Honorary Chairperson

The Newtown Rotary is honored to dedicate our 2017 golf tournament to our friend and member Brian Amey.

Brian arrived from the UK in 1995 to continue his retail banking career and is proud to be a US citizen since 2006.

He has been a Newtown Rotarian since 2000, serving as Club President in 2003 – 2004 and District 7980 Governor in 2012 – 2013. He supports the local community through a variety of Club projects including this Golf tournament and is honored to be a Paul Harris Society member.

Sadly, Brian’s wife Margaret, who was instrumental in bringing him to the USA, passed away in April 2013, disrupting their retirement plans, but he has family in Sandy Hook, Stoughton MA and Midland NC. Brian enjoys playing golf and is a couch potato these days, watching his favorite sports; Cricket; Soccer and Rugby Union teams from the UK.
