Newtown Rotary 60th Annual Pancake Breakfast

The Newtown Rotary Club and Newtown Rotary Foundation, a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, will continue its legacy hosting its Annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Even though the pancake breakfast may look slightly different, it is still about bringing our community together, sharing tradition, and raising a little money for community organizations that serve us throughout the year.

“Our look this year may be different, but the goals remain the same. To continue with a well-loved tradition, bring families and community together, and raise money to help support our local organizations.” ~ Alex Villamil, President-elect, Newtown Rotary Club.

Rather than canceling another fun community event, we are asking residents to help keep this annual Newtown tradition alive, albeit in their own homes. By partnering with Sandy Hook’s Maple Craft Foods, the Newtown Rotary Club will sell pancake breakfast meal kits online. Our shopping link is below. The meal kit and syrups would also make great holiday gifts. Best of all, 40% of all proceeds will go to the Rotary’s Community Giving and Local Scholarship Funds.

We hope to keep community participation as the heart of this event by way of social media. We will be hosting a photo contest on both our Facebook page and Instagram for our favorite pictures of meals, families, and of course, pancakes. Our hashtag is #RotaryPancake.

Additionally, we will continue marking this event on the first Saturday in December. While other delivery options are available, on Saturday, December 5, 2020, we will offer a curbside pick-up option at the Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street, staffed by Rotarians and their families from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We hope you will come by and say hello.
